Stanford was actively working on his Eagle Scout service project the day he collapsed
on the floor with abdominal pain, 9 June 2006. He had met with the principal of
Main Dunstable Elementary School, Christopher Gosselin, and described the project
that he wanted to do for the school. Unfortunately, Stanford was never able to
complete that project. Mr. Gosselin was anxious that the project be done in tribute
to Stanford, and he organized 4th and 5th graders, members of the PTO, and others
who wanted to finish the project Stanford started. On 9 Aug 2007 the all met at
Main Dunstable Elementary School and the project was done. A journalist and photographer
from the Nashua Telegraph were there. These pictures capture some of the activity
that took place. Scans of the article in the Telegraph are included here. The Telegraph also did a video piece on the project which is available by clicking here . |
